Interview

Hi Becca, could you introduce yourself first?

Hello, I am Becca. I am a floral preservationists. I believe flowers can be precious memories worth preserving for eternity. I used to press the bouquets of flowers my grandma received from my grandpa and preserve them in picture frames. Even today, the pictures hang everywhere in her house and are a wonderful memory. That’s when my enthusiasm and interest in flowers and plants began. Today, my apartment and garden are a paradise of plants. Moreover, flowers are usually given on special and beautiful occasions, and the memories of these occasions should be preserved just like photos.

Great! Rebecca, could you tell me more about how you started the flower preservation journey? You have mentioned that you have preserved bouquets for your grandparents. Do the reason also relates to your family?

Well, as I’ve already told you, I used to preserve flowers with my grandma. When I was older, I tried it again and again with my boyfriend’s bouquets. But I was never completely convinced by the results. So I gave up. Later, I started working with resin and discovered that other resin artists were preserving bouquets with silica gel. I was really excited about it and immediately ordered the wisedry silica gel and continued to preserve bouquets from my boyfriend. Later a friend asked me if I could preserve her bridal bouquet because she saw other resin artists doing it. At some point, I also did it for family, friends and neighbors.

It’s so cute. You must have preserved lots of beautiful bouquets from your boyfriends. They all carry love and memories at different stages of your relationship. Could you tell me one of the story behind?

Yes! My sister-in-law brought me flowers from her hometown in Kazakhstan from her grandma’s garden. I dried them for her with wisedry silica gel and preserved them in a resin pendant for eternity. She wears this pendant every day as a reminder of her hometown and her grandma. I would love to create this joy of special memories for more people!

Are our silica crystals the first brand you have tried? Have you tried other brands of silica gel crystals?

Yes, the wisedry silica gel is the first and only silica gel I have used so far.

Wow. I am so flattered to hear that. Why do you trust us so much? There are a lot of options on the market. Why don’t you give them a try?

I would say: never change a winning team. As I said, your silica gel was the first one I used and it worked really well from the start. And for me, the price-performance ratio is right, so to be honest, I just didn’t want to take the risk that it wouldn’t work as well with other gels. The color indicator is also a reason to buy it. I also love your Instagram page. I think it’s great to see how other creators create wonderful things with the help of silica gel. And I also really like the tips and inspiration on your Instagram page. To be honest, I never thought about trying another product.

Awww. Thank you so much! Glad that our product can help you preserve flowers better. As you have mentioned, you must have preserved lots of memories not only for you but also for many people around you. What were you thinking while preserving these treasured flowers? Would you be nervous?

Oh yes, I’m always a bit nervous when people have specific ideas about what they want. I want to live up to expectations, of course. But I’m especially nervous when it comes to working with valuable and unique things, like a bridal bouquet. Of course, that always requires the utmost concentration. And that’s why I like to work with products that I know well and can assess. But it is also an honour for me that I am entrusted with such valuable things.

During your career, you must have preserved memories for many people. Is there a story that leaves you a strong impression?

Actually, I would say that my sister-in-law’s story touched my heart. My parents are also migrants from Kazakhstan. That’s why I understand the connection to the homeland. And I really liked the idea of always carrying a piece of nature from home with me and preserving it forever.

What a loving family. If you could sum it up in one sentence, what does this job, flower preservation mean to you?

To oppose the transience of flowers and to preserve them for eternity, just as the memories associated with them are eternal.

That’s beautiful. Thank you so much!
