Interview
Heather, can you do a little bit of an introduction of yourself first?
Sure I’m a mother of 3 married to my high school sweetheart and a recreational therapist as my main career.
What is a recreational therapist? Like a doctor?
A therapist who does recreational activities as treatment for special populations and I also coordinate activities at a facility.
I see. It’s a meaningful work. Is flower preservation a sideline for you? How did you start it?
Yeah it’s a side business and it all started when I was first doing jewelry and using resin 2 years ago and my model asked if I could preserve her wedding bouquet. I tried and since then I’ve done about 200 preservations.
That’s excellent. During the years of flower preservation, you must try many brands of silica gel crystals. Why do you choose us at the end?
I prefer how fine the sand is to fit down in the flowers and how vibrant the orange becomes when it’s recharged. Your company is also really thoughtful for flower preservation artists in your products.
Thank you so much for your appreciation! Glad that our crystals can help you preserve better flowers. After having preserved memories fore about 200 people. Is there a story behind the flowers that leaves you a strong impression?
Honestly I have always loved two things helping others find happiness and art and preserving lets me do both. And to make lasting meaningful art pieces.
Is there an impressive story that comes to your mind?
Super recently I have a bride that while dating she collected all the flowers her husband gave her while dating and dried them to create petals to throw at her wedding which is adorable And in the past I had a bride ask if her grandfather’s tie could be put in her piece since it was wrapped around her bouquet stems to remember him.
Awww, so sweet. If you could sum it up in one sentence, what does this job, flower preservation mean to you?
It’s become a way to feed a piece of who I am now and who I want to become.
It’s amazing. Thank you.
