Great! Melissa, can you do a little bit of an introduction of yourself first?

I’m 48 yrs old. Originally from New York but have been in Texas since 1997. I am a Registered Nurse and have been for 27 years and am an artist. Self-taught mostly. I paint in acrylics and oils, have been doing resin for a while and began flower preservation about a year ago.

Wow,Wonderful! Great to meet you, Melissa! Why and how did you start the flower preservation works a year ago? Are there any special moments?

Thank you! I started seeing various flower preservation artists in my feed and I love Flowers so I decided To give it a try. So far I have mostly done them for myself but I just finished a project for a Man who is giving a gift to his wife for their anniversary and I just finished preserving roses from my aunt’s garden that I will give her as a gift for Mother’s Day.

As yu have mentioned, you must have preserved many treasure flowers for many people. What were you thinking while preserving these flowers for them? Would the process put a little stress on you?

Yes. It is stressful. I am Always thinking about doing a good job and making sure not to ruin the flowers.

After preservaing many flowers for people, Is there a story that behind the flowers leaves you a stong impression?

I would have to say the one I just did. How they are flowers grown in their own yard. That they started from seed when they purchased their home together.

Wow, they grow with their flowers. What a wonderful experience.

These were some before I put in the silica. These are the ones I did for my aunt. She grew the roses and is very proud of them so I want to give her a gift with them for mothers day.
