Interview
Paulina, can you do a little bit of an introduction of yourself first?
My name is Paulina. I come from the picturesque Roztocze in eastern Poland. It is a beautiful place full of forests and meadows. After graduation, I moved to Lublin, where I work and raise my two wonderful daughters. I love riding a bike and reading books. But lately, I’ve been devoting every free moment to my greatest passion – flowers.
How did you start your flower preservation journey? Is there a special moment?
Living in a work-home-child mode, I felt that I needed space just for myself. I have wanted to develop creatively for a long time and I was looking for an idea for myself. While browsing the Internet, I came across resin flowers and I was hooked. First, I started collecting meadow flowers, which I still have the greatest sentiment for. I wanted to preserve their beauty by drying them and preserving them in resin, creating floral paintings. I learned everything on my own. And it didn’t always work out, but I didn’t give up. Over time, my passion for flowers has developed to such an extent that now I have my own garden and I sow and plant flowers in it, which I then dry in special flower presses, creating floral handicrafts from them. These are not only floral paintings made of dried flowers, but also jewelry stands, lamps, flower balls, bookmarks and jewelry.
I come up with something new every now and then, but I create everything out of passion for flowers and the desire to preserve their beauty for longer. Recently, in addition to preserving flowers in resin, I have been creating floral paintings from flowers from wedding bouquets. This is a completely new type of work with flowers, much more responsible and I am just discovering it, but I already know that it will stay with me for a long time.

That’s so good. During the years of flower preservation, you must try many brands of silica gel crystals. Why do you choose us at the end?
Yes it’s true. I tested various silica sands. However, I noticed that the foreign creators I follow on Instagram most often use your brand and I really wanted to try it. It has small beaded silica gels and an orange indicator added, which is everything I’m looking for.
That’s wonderful. Thank you so much for your support. As you have mentioned, you must have preserved memories fore many people. Is there a story that leaves you a stong impression?
I have only been preserving wedding bouquets for a few months. Previously, it was “ordinary” handicraft. For example, I created Micro meadows in necklaces that flew to Australia to remind us of Poland. However, what I remember most is the realization of preserving a child’s hair in resin as a keepsake. I am a mother myself, so such projects are close to me.
Oh wow, why did the owner want to keep child’s hair in the keepsake? Is there a story behind?
Just to commemorate the first haircut. More and more often, things like baby teeth or umbilical cords are preserved in resin, and preserving mother’s milk is becoming very popular. I guess nothing will surprise me anymore. I was to decorate the cut lock of hair with delicate gypsophila flowers. It was supposed to resemble weaving floral wreaths from wild flowers, which her mother is very fond of.

The first haircut preservation
Awww, that’s so cute. If you could sum it up in one sentence, what does this job, flower preservation mean to you?
Preserving flowers is a very grateful form of therapy for me, thanks to it I forget about everyday problems and discover features in myself that I didn’t know existed, e.g. I have infinite patience only for flowers.
Wonderful!Thank you.
