We’re thrilled to welcome Jillian as a new Wisedry Brand Ambassador!
With a background in wedding photography and floral design, she has always been captivated by the fleeting beauty of flowers. What makes her artistry truly unique is that she goes beyond flowers—pairing preserved blooms with insects, woodland finds, and even mushrooms to create enchanting still-life scenes.
She describes her work as “a passing moment, frozen in time, inviting others to experience it again and again.” Like a magician of nature, she transforms delicate, short-lived elements into timeless stories, each piece offering a glimpse into a paused moment in the forest.
We’re honored to support her creativity and can’t wait to see the magical worlds she continues to bring to life with Wisedry. 🌸✨

A little bit about myself:
I’ve always been very passionate about nature and have a long-standing love of florals. I worked for a long time in the wedding industry as a photographer and also helped as a florist, creating arrangements and bouquets. From my time in the wedding industry, I found it sad that the flowers would be disposed of after that one big day, and that always sat with me. Once I left the wedding industry and had my daughter, I started a journey of self-exploration of many different art forms I’ve always wanted to try. That’s when I got into pinning insects, and my passion for creating still-life pieces took shape. My imagination roamed, and finding Wisedry was a cornerstone to building the pieces I envisioned, and allowed me to preserve those beautiful flowers I saw while photographing weddings perfectly. Though I do not work with preserving bouquets or wedding flowers, I preserve the flowers I fell in love with then and pair them with insects to tell a story and capture a scene.

My work with Wisedry also goes beyond florals, I forage for many of the items I use in my pieces to create a natural and realistic scene for some pieces, the thought being a moment in the forest paused that the viewer could keep indefinitely. I’ve used silica on several found items, including woodland plants and mushrooms. My experimentation with mushrooms is still ongoing. Without Wisedry my pieces wouldn’t be as beautiful, colorful, and alluring to the viewers as they are, and my vision to capture realistic scenes in nature wouldn’t come to fruition.
1/ What inspired you to begin your flower preservation journey? Was there a defining moment that sparked it, or has this been a lifelong dream since childhood?
I’ve always been a fan of fleeting moments. Preserving flowers for a scene feels like pausing a fleeting moment of a flower’s journey, whether as a bud, an open flower, or a flower right at the end of its life span, with just a few petals hanging on. It’s such a fantastic ability to have, almost like magic in a sense.

2/During your work experiences on flower preservation, did any story leave a strong impression on you?
Since I do not typically work directly with people, I do not have a specific story, but I work on custom pieces from time to time. Nothing is more special for me than delivering a piece I’ve worked weeks on and seeing the person’s eyes and face light up in amazement. As they experience all the details, the delicate flowers they never thought could be kept forever unless made of plastic, are now in their home, to be viewed repeatedly.
3/During the years of flower preservation, you must have tried many brands of silica gel crystals. Why do you choose us at the end?
I’ve tried many varieties of silica brands, but I keep coming back to Wisedry and will only use it because of the quality it provides me. I’ve found my flowers dry faster, there is less dust, they recharge faster, and it seems my flowers’ colors, at least to me, look better. Though I do not know the exact science behind it all, it’s just what I feel I’ve witnessed.
4/And my last question is, if you could sum it up in one sentence, what does this job, flower preservation mean to you?
A passing moment, frozen in time, inviting others to experience it again and again.
