Interview
Kayleigh, can you do a little bit of an introduction of yourself first?
I am Kayleigh, owner of PressedArrow! I started my business in 2011 after my husband and I got married. I was looking for a way to save my wedding bouquet and there were no options I could find. So my journey of preservation started.
I see. Why there are no options at that time? Did you preserve your bouquet at the end?
Back then, the concept of preserving wedding bouquets was not widely known or practiced. When I looked for options, there weren’t as many choices available as there are today. Eventually, I decided to reach out to a small business that I often bought resin earrings from. I proposed a collaboration where they could preserve some of my florals in a pair of earrings. Initially, the business owner hesitated but agreed to take on my request. I still have those earrings to this day. This experience marked the beginning of my self-taught journey in floral preservation.
Kayleigh’s Art
Understand it now. Such a good starting. Glad that we can have a great flower preservationist nowadays! During the years of flower preservation, you must try many brands of silica gel crystals. Why do you choose us at the end?
I have experimented with various brands of silica for various purposes. However, Wisedry stands out for its consistent quality, which is crucial for ensuring that my brides’ floral arrangements have the best start. Wisedry silica is not only user-friendly, but it also effortlessly detaches from the flowers once they are fully dried.
Thank you so much for your love and appreciation! Looking back on your career, you must have preserved memories for many people. Is there a story that leaves you a strong impression?
Throughout my preservation work, I have encountered numerous memorable moments. One particular experience that holds great significance is when a group of compassionate nurses reached out to me. They had been part of the dedicated team that had cared for a young man involved in a tragic vehicle accident. Although he tragically succumbed to his injuries, a single flower had somehow found its way onto his clothing. The nursing staff entrusted me with the task of transforming that flower into a precious ornament, which they presented to the grieving family. While I am fortunate to engage in preservation projects that bring joy, being a part of the healing journey for many families through preservation always leaves me with a profound sense of making a meaningful impact.
Oh, it’s so heartbreaking and meaningful. If you could sum it up in one sentence, what does this job, flower preservation mean to you?
My floral preservation career is one full of sharing- whether it’s preserving precious memories or imparting valuable education, I find great fulfillment in the act of sharing and being a part of others’ floral preservation experiences!
So beautiful. It’s amazing. Thank you.
